As part of the Ask Dr. Tommy O Health Education Series, on November 24, 2009, Dr Tommy O took the opportunity to educate attendees at the United Bronx Parents 822 Senior Program on the devastating effects of Liver disease. Dr. Tommy O encouraged all to get tested for Hepatitis as well as discussed how one can reduce risk of contracting Hepatitis.

On November 25, 2009, Executive Producer, Daren Jamie, of Bronxnet Perspectives, interviewed Dr. Tommy O' on his role as a community health advocate. Dr Tommy O' discussed his holistic approach to patient care. He explained, "As a Family Physician, I am more then just a pill pusher. I look, listen and feel each patient. This is how I connect with them."

The Bronx Knows is a large-scale public health initiative to increase voluntary HIV testing. The goal of this initiative is to test every Bronx resident, identify high risk individuals, determine his or her HIV status and ensure those tested have access to quality care. The New York City Department of Health has teamed up with Dr. Tommy O and La Casa De Salud to increase access to free HIV testing. On December 01, 2009, approximately forty community members were screened for HIV. Dr. Tommy O states, "Next month, our goal is to double the number screened for HIV".

The most precious gift a person can give is life. On December 2, 2009, Dr Tommy O interviewed Karen Cummings from the New York Organ Donors Network regarding the importance of individuals becoming organ donors. Ms. Cummings explained how the process works and laid to rest all the fears and misconceptions associated with organ donation.

On December 11, 2009, Dr. Tommy O joined the staff of the Bronx Academy of Promise Charter School to celebrate the holiday season at the Hard Rock Cafe located in Yankee Stadium.
