For the past three years, Lakeesha Grant has been an integral part of Dr. Tommy O and Bishop Dr. Timothy Birkett’s outreach programs. Not only does LaKeesha Grant volunteer as a mentor, but she also serves as a positive role model for women of color. Dr. Tommy O and Bishop Dr. Birkett presented Lakeesha Grant the Martin Luther King Jr. Award for outstanding community services.

Dr. Tommy O, a member of the Lions Club, participated in Deer Park Lions Club's 2006 Annual Pancake Breakfast. Each year, the Lions Club raises money to help pay for medical bills for community members who can not. Most who receive financial aid have eye pathology secondary to diabetes. Dr. Tommy O would like to thank the Deer Park Lions club for making a difference in our community.

Summer 1999, the Lopez family was devastated when Paul Anthony Lopez was killed by a drunk driver. Dr. Tommy O participated in the 6th annual Paul Anthony Lopez Fundraiser. To help raise money and awarenes, more then 350 family and friends supported this event. Dr. Tommy O reminds everyone not to drink and drive.

On July 30, 2005, the Ask Dr. Tommy O Community Health Education TV Show and The Church of Obedience & Authority Ministries participated in the 5th Annual Mitchell Community Event. Over 1500 community members participated in this years event. Supported by Sanford Brown Institute, students supervised by La Keesha Grant screened 200 of the participants for Diabetes and Hypertension. Dr. O'Brien and his colleagues would like to thank the Police Department as well as all those who volunteered their time to make this event a success.

Dr. Tommy O and Bishop Dr. Timothy Birkett can be heard on Saturdays between 5 and 6 pm on 105.5 FM, NYC. This program takes a holistic approach to the gospel and health care.
